I am quite taken by this forum. It is interesting and (if you look in the right place) informative. But I am dissapointed that so many views appear to come from younger USA based persons. There is nothing wrong with this, but it would be nice to have a broader contributor base in terms of age, language, culture, etc. Thanks for answering.

You aren't looking any further than the avatars. They're cartoons, and they all look to be in their twenties. There are a lot of people here much older, and much wiser than that.

It IS an "interesting" forum, isn't it? It certainly seems to bring out the "strangeness" in people which can be tremendously amusing.

Blame Yahoo! for not having a real question and answer forum like google has with moderated questions. This is all to boost and promote Yahoo popularity and Yahoo 360 too. Yahoo was founded in the US which may be a reason that most users on here are from the US and US adolescents have less respect and manners than their worldly counterparts, hence the immature answers.

I am one of the exceptions. I will be 59 next month and I really get a kick out of some of the stupid and irrelevant questions that are asked. I try and use my experience of life to answer some of the more legitimate ones. I think young people have nothing to do in their spare time and therefore get on the internet. I only get free time at night. Why they are from the US, I don't know that one.

Perhaps because young Americans have access to a computer more than Senior citizens do, and young americans figured out the art of google.

More young people use the internet as a passtime and entertainment. They IM all day and all night, they grew up doing it. I imagine that is why most of the answers are from young people.

Young people would represent the majority here because they have the time to mill around on the net. Older individuals are probably less tolerant of inane answers and wouldn't waste their time. Me, excluded. I could mill around here all day...

I'm under 28, but from India.

But it seems like Americans have either a lot of time on their hands or they have a lot to say or maybe both.

I guess it's because more young Americans have access to the internet as well as a lot of time on their hands.

Is it possible to feel ironic?

Anyway, it's probably a cultural thing. As far as I know, American kids are some of the most exposed as far as the internet goes. Except possibly the Japanese? Also, word-of-mouth. Lots of bored American kids + WoM = possible answer to your question? Dunno, just lots of speculation. 0.O
