Are
Because you are talking about two things, you use the plural "are". If you said, "love is better", it is just one thing so it is singular.

Now which question are you more interested in? Eng gramm. or the Q. in Bold?
Anyways, the ans. for 2nd Q. is "is".
Coming to the first one, sex is nothing but expression of love and care for the person. Sex without feelings would result in lust which neither of the partner can enjoy in long run. You'll get fed up as you would after eating loads and loads of burgers at a stretch. It is nothing, but lust without the essence of love.
Hence you may choose to live with a understanding, loving and caring partner than be sleeping with a beastly human.
Love is eternal, a gift of God, an expression of care, adoration,
faith, respect, union of souls. It is abstract.Hence Eternal, Sex or No Sex.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

as i am a English Teacher i would have to say the answer to that question would be "are" becasue love and care and 2 things so we have to put the plural form of the word in that blank... are..
"is" a singular word meaning only 1 person, place or thing.
"are" is a plural word meaning more than one.... taking the place of the plural connecting word that is why we use are in that case.

as you mention love and care which is two, it would be better if you use 'are'.
Just my point of view, love and care is absolutely more important than sex. Sex is just a way to show how a couple make love, love that derives from caring about each other and loving each other.

You choose, depending on what you mean.

If you consider "love" and "care" to be two separate things, use "are".

If you consider "love and care" to be one unit, use "is".

We cannot make this choice for you because we don't know what you mean to say.

"Are" is the correct word, because you are talking about two subjects: love, and care.
