It depends on the amount that the family can afford, how many children there are, what duties will be expected of you. If, for example, you were babysitting for a rather poor couple it would be unreasonable to charge $10 an hour as that would likely make it impossible for them to go out. If however a person lives in a house 3 times the size of most houses in the area and goes out evernight, $5 an hour would be far to low. set your price at what is reasonable for the Job, somewhere between $5-10 an hour, depending on the circumstances.

i think you should charge like 2 dollars a kid an hour,now if they want you to cook or clean put the price up. because you could make a killing!
