The fan in my bedroom is now broken. I went to pull the chain to turn the light on and the lighting portion of the ceiling fan just fell down. Now its hanging by some wires.

Any ideas on how I can go about fixing this problem?

The set screws that retain the light fixture have come loose.
First turn off the power.
Then look for screws that the light mounts too. Align the fixture with the screws (making sure to tuck the wires into the fixture so they don't pinch) Tighten the screws and restore the power. That's it.

Don't worry it pops back on like a gas cap. Just turn it off and do the deed. The slots fit over the screws. If the screws are missing then they're probably somewhere on the floor. just put them back in the holes and it'll all be self explanatory.
