My mother found this autographed sketch in the basement of her parent's plantation house in VA when she was a little girl. It is not in mint condition, has some water stains on it but is a Currier & Ives. Have not been able to find a replica of it on ANY web site and she is curious to how much it would be worth, if anything at all.

If it's from Currier & Ives it isn't likely to be an original Robert E. Lee sketch. Currier & Ives reproduced original art. If it were an original sketch, drawing or painting the Currier & Ives trademark would not be on it. The trademark was added to the printed reproductions.

However, depending on the date of the print, it could still be worth as much as a few hundred dollars.

Try taking a good, clear photograph of it and offering it on Ebay.

I'd try to contact William and Mary College or a dealer in documents.

Just make up a price off of the top of your head.
