I think he will be a good influence on Cuban cigars, some of which leave MUCH to be desired. That seems like a step forward for Cuba.

I don't know why she thought this, but a Cuban friend's mother once told me that Raul is worse than Fidel ever thought of being. She didn't elaborate.

Raul will probably want to maintain the status quo, but I think history has passed that kind of govt and economic system by.

If/when Fidel recovers, not many.

But it seems that he is the heir apparent. I don't know enough about his differences with Fidel to make an educated guess.
