I download music from a site and I pay a monthly fee. How do some of the sites offer it for free? I thought they were suing people downloading for free, for infringement rights. I've read where they have. So if you're downloading for free, isn't that stealing?

you're doing the right thing to pay the monthly fee.

If it's offered by the artist, perhaps on their website, then no, it's not stealing...If you're using limewire or something like it, it is technically stealing. But you can avoid being sued rather easily...just move the files into your library on your media player. Then who's to say you didn't upload the music from your own CDs.

Yes it is still stealing but there are so many people doing it that they are not cracking down on people as they use to w/ fines and stuff. Mostly they look for users who DL song after song after song. If you want to know some DL sites you can email me bc if ever one names them on here then it is an easier way to get the sites shut down.

OH i am not sure if this is true, but i heard that even Napster is free again.

Just a theoretical analysis:

Suppose a friend of yours comes over to visit and you let her have a free copy of a song from a site that you pay a monthy fee to, that would be nice of you.

Suppose Joe Smith buys a CD, rips a song onto his computer and let's his friend across town visit on-line to have a copy, nice of him to be generous.

In either example music was BOUGHT before sharing.

I feel that all these artist are out to make money to pay their bills and live a good life and downloading their music for free is unfair to them and also unfair to people like you that pay a monthly fee.
Yes I definitely believe that it is stealing!

well i have had limewire for about 2 years . . and as you know limewire is free ! , you should get limewire or bearshare . . if you didnt know limewire and all programs does have a monthly fee but at the bottom it says this is false . you should not get a music site where you pay . you should always read it carefully .

Yeah, I'm a pirate. And maybe I'll get busted one day. But dammit, it's MUSIC! It's not gold chains or something. If not the internet, I would burn CD's, or go back to '95 and tape record it off the radio.
