The most common way is by using cyanide then boil off the cyanide afterwards.

That's very easy to do! If you are separating it directly from large chunks of stone, just do so carefully with a fine chisel and mallet. It only takes gentle strokes. If you are separating it from fine gravel/sand/etc. then I suggest that you use a sleuce box.
