Tell us your experience. I tried it once, and it was going to cost more than I could afford to spend, so I had to drop it. This was 8 years ago and now it is on the market. A drip proof paint can.

Lots of items. What I have found that most people make the mistake of trying to take of the world with one idea and the greed gets in the way or ends up taking all of their profit. I suggest to most people to find a need and fill it... no matter how small of an idea it is. Get it to a final product or service that can be sold and get it out their quickly and make some money on it quickly without a lot of investment of money. Don't try and patent something that you could be making money on right away. The mistake most people make is they waste the time and money trying to get a patent that doesn't do them any good. It just makes the Lawyers money that you could have used to create your next idea... plus if it is an idea that makes money other people are going to see that it is making money and they ARE going to steal your idea and then your market share will quickly become smaller... if you got out there and made money on your idea quickly, let the other people steal your idea because you took the money you made quickly and are already working on the NEW and IMPROVED version of the idea or on a completely new idea. TRY TO KEEP EXPENSES to as little as possible. Try to do as much as you can yourself. If you are having to pay people to get your idea out their then it isn't a good enough idea. Go for Vanity items. People will pay a lot of money for things that will make them look better or feel better or that they like or think they need. Start out small and cheap, if it is a good enough idea then it will take off if it doesn't then all you have done is wasted your time and you really didn't waste it you just learned something even if it was that your idea wasn't something that would make you money. Watch out for the people that want you to pay them to help you market your product. Do it yourself, if your idea is good enough they will get involved for free now in hopes of a later percentage of the profits. That way if it doesn't work the NO ONE makes any money. Have a GREAT Day !!

My lifetime goal was set in 1965 to some day become the builder of the Rolls-Royce of a custom motorcycle built for famous ladies only with options all other builders have not ever thought of. In 1970 I invented the illuminated gas tank that glows at night with my own stylish and aerodynamic design. Using a 1157 tail light bulb mounted to a truck oil filler cap placed up inside a fiberglass dome. The light goes through the doom, gas, the fiberglass tank shell where ever it is painted red, orange, or yellow. I also invented thetopcatplan.com A plan to save the world from destruction and bring the power of this country back to the people instead of the cronies that have ruled for the last 140 years. Google the only plan to launch the hydrogen economy, hemp, and self-sufficient industry or hemp composite water towers or aerodynamic water buffaloes with purified downspout water. Within 2 years we will have at least 2 dozen idea and design patents to enhance the technology of the vertical wind turbine to be able to supply 160% of all electrical energy needed. So if we have a long time period with no sun, that's OK, we still will not ever need to use fossil fuel for anything. We have hemp and hydrogen folks. Top Cat II

Yes mam, sorry to here about your idea going by the way side. next time remember, that their are many private lenders to help you out with your idea. I have spent the last three years on a project, I have a pat. pend. and this tool has been field tested, and got very high rating's. now I just finished up negotiations with a manufacture, and as of now I am in negotiation's for a small amount of capital. and within the next 2 mo. should be to market. this definitely became more of an undertaking than I had figured on but, should be well worth it. if you were able to come up with something that clever, I am sure that fate will steer your way again. never give up on your dreams.
best wishes on all your endeavors.!!!!!!

I have some ideas for inventions but never really tried to develop them. I was going to get a patent on one of them but couldn't afford to pay for it, nor did I have the machinery to create it. It's a great idea too! No one has created it. Wish I could find someone willing to help create the product and give me shares of the profits. Until then, it will remain my secret.
