I think it's hilarious that you call Green Day "wanna be." I'm with you with Fall Out Boy and every other band that claims to be punk, but Green Day was putting out punk when there were no other punk bands (the time between Operation Ivy and Rancid).
You need to check your references, then come correct.
I'm guessing by the way wrote this that you are about 15, so do youreself a favor and go buy "Kerplunk". Then try and tell me how "wanna be" Green Day is.

A real punk band will spit in your face and call your mother a whore, and if you are a true punk fan you will love it. Greenday was a good band with an innovative sound. They fought through alot of punk fans to be considered what they are now. Punk is a great music and expression, but just because you act violent on a stage doesn't mean you have talent. As for Fallout boy, don't dig em, they sound like nothing new to me.

you've got to admit, any band out there that has been going strong since 1996 cant be doing that much wrong with their music career. i agree, greendays stuff gets overplayed, but you know, they're doing a darn good job selling records, and staying famous. there arent very many bands that can do that. areosmith is another band that just kicks *** in that sense.
even if you dont like them, i'd like to see you try and do what they do, album after album.

They are professional musicians. They may not wanna be punk bands, they probably make a better living playing bubble gum. I'd probably trade jobs with them. It could be worse, they could be wanna be boy bands.

So what's your definition of a *real* punk band and why should the whole world accept your definition as the true, end-all-be-all definition?
