1st try a new cd if that does not work. Search for trojan remover, it has a free 30 day trial and will clean your computer long enough to transfer your pictures. If that does not work Id put them all in a share file create a new account on your computer and save them from that account. Its weird but for awhile that was the only way I coulddo set things

Simplest question...have you tried different CDs? Also perhaps you should try a CD from a different manufacturer...I have problems myself with disks with blue writing sides (the silver ones usually work fine)...also, you might try rebooting the computer just to clear short-term memory out...that might help (that's a situation I've encountered, that error message, and rebooting often clears it out enough to get the files onto the disk).

Try installing an anti virus software and then try writing to CD. The antivirus will block the virus from affecting the cd write operation.
I would prefer moving all the images to a new partition (create using PQMagic) and format the existing drives except the new one. Then install the OS and write your pictures to a CD.

Have you tried burning software such as Nero?
Your CD BURNER might be TOAST which could cause those problems. You can replace it yourself or have a professional do it for you.
Have you tried a DIFFERENT BLANK cd? Sometimes they have glitches.
You can also take your hard drive off your computer and put it on another computer PREFERABLY one with VIRUS PROTECTION and copy the files to their hard drive or to a CD or DVD.
Have you considered just BUYING virus protection software. It is not THAT EXPENSIVE and helps out a great deal.

Here is the best way. Take it to your nearest Circuit City and tell them I want some pictures taken out. They'll do it (most likely for free, especially if you buy the computer from them too).
Don't do anything ohers are trying to tell you. If you reinstall Windows or anything, it won't work and if you do a clean install, then everything gets wiped out and you loose your pictures anyway.

Ok when you have viruses they tend to infect files. So get rid of the files then you will be able to get your pictures onto cd but dvd is better

Download AVG and run it. It works, and may save your 'puter!
I would emai the pics to myself and that way I would be able to have access to them no matter what competer I had, or I would create a webshots account and upload them there. It is easier to upload them to the net than try and copy on cd. A flash drive would also be easier.

I suggest you to upload your pcitures and other data to yahoo breifcase or some other backup site like www.streamload.com or use USB flash drive which I recommend to transfer all your important data. It might be possible that your CD writer is not working properly.
