A bad battery is probably NOT the cause of stalling. You need a new one when it won't hold a charge.

You will have to provide more details for me to come up with a good analysis on why your Jeep is stalling but I can tell you this...
Once the engine is started, you could remove your battery and the vehicle wouldn't even know it's missing! In other words, unless the battery is shorting out and taking most of the electricity away from your engine, the stalling is not related to the battery.
Let's look at other possibilities... I assume the check engine light is not illuminated on the dash which tells me the computer thinks all your emission gizmos are working correctly which should mean the fuel/air ratio should be good to run. So....
Unless maintenance records show these components to have been replaced within 50,000 miles, I would consider replacing everything on this list:
1. Sparkplugs
2. Air Filter
3. PCV Valve
4. Distributor Cap
5. Distributor Rotor
6. Ignition Wires
If all these things are relatively new, the throttle body could need some cleaning. In fuel injected engines, the gas pedal more or less just allows more air to enter the engine. With your foot completely off the gas pedal the butterfly valve in the throttle body closes which returns the engine to idle rpm. Air should still get past though or the engine will stall/die. It is a relatively simple procedure to clean the throttle body at the butterfly valve. You simply remove the plasic intake plenum (usually the tube from the air cleaner assembly) from the throttle body, manually open the butterfly valve (push with your fingers), and then wipe out the throttle body bore and butterfly valve plate with a cloth and carburetor cleaner until it is nice and shiny.
Without more details to work with, I am afraid that's the best I could do for you!
Good luck!

T.P.S (throttle position sensor). were basic sensor mess united stateslower back then in case your truck remains gas injected, yet another situation i have had were the gas pump and major relays lower than hood falling out of holder close to the diagnostic plug, the relays fall the incorrect way up and water enters relays. countless different connections and sensors may reason stall, even music up ,yet i ought to commence with those

After you fix it, trade it in on a Subaru.
