if specification says upto 64 MB, then thats maximum possible

it cannot read 128 MB, as simple

in case u were 2 go 2 128 mb, chances r that it will only read it as 64 mb, also chances are that it causes a clash & reads only 0 mb , in which case u'r computer may not boot-up at all

all motherboard & bios dependant !

>> safer u stick to 64 MB & if u r facing problems, go down with operating system

if u running win 98 & it's not performing with 64 mb, then only way out would be a neat programme 2 resolve issues., like system mechanic from iolo technologies http://www.iolo.com

try free 4 30 days, then see if u wanna buy, else uninstall - after gettin job done !

other option would be goin down with os , like usin win 95 !

I think you will need to refer to the laptop specification, it will indicate how much memory can the motherboard handle. Also, laptops are harder to upgrade than desktops as they are limited by space and are quite rigid. If you are thinking about upgrading your computer quite frequently, i do suggest a desktop.
Up to 64Mb, means that it could handle up to 64Mb of memory. And if you put 128Mb, the board will not be able to use the card and might cause some complication to happen. I was wondering what year of specs do your laptop have? If it currently have 32Mb, then you can add another 32Mb memory to boost the performance abit. Also for laptops, i do suggest that you send it to the computer shop for the upgrade as there is alot of fragile thing on the laptop and you dun wanna risk breaking anything while doing the upgrade especially the screen.

No, you are misunderstanding that. Up to 64MB means that you can share that much from the system's RAM. You can change the setting throught the BIOS. More than likely, the card is built into the Motherboard and cannot be upgraded.
