I don't know about other Europeans, but I believe I do.
The name Sikh has a religious connotation, it means people who adhere to Sikhism. It's true, most of them live in India's Punjab and in Pakistan, but there are also a lot of immigrants in the UK, US, etc.

With the Arabs, it is a bit more complicated and I'm still not sure how you would define an Arab. If I'm not mistaken it can refer to the language (people who speak Arabic), to people who originated in the Arabic Peninsula, etc.

I'm an American. A Sikh is a practitioner of Sikhism. Most Sikhs come from the Punjabi region. I learned in a theology book that they adhere to the teachings of “ten Gurus,” and are monotheistic. An Arab is harder to define. He’s usually part of an ethnic group in the Middle east and North Africa. Some Arabs believe that they are descendants of Sem, the son of Noah . Or he could be simply someone who speaks Arabic. Some may argue that a true Arab can trace his heritage back to the original inhabitants of the Arabian Peninsula. To be fair I do live near a library.

Sikhs are a religious group mostly centered in the Punjab region of India. They are more mystic than Muslims.

Arabs are an ethnic group originating in the Arabian peninsula (not including Iranians, who are mostly ethnic Persians). Most Arabs speak Arabic, and most are Muslims by religion.

Yes, I'm from the USA, if you can believe that.
