I had a guinea pig mine never bit me just clawed me u need to be more patience with it handle it gently and when u pick it up pick it up under it's belly and hold in your arms most guinea pigs will bite if frightened or hungry .. I even had a leash made especially for guinea pigs he would walk around the yard with me .. in time he /she will tame down..

This is kind of a silly question...
Why does any animal bite? Because, for some reason, it is annoyed/scared/angry with you. Be gentle and don't try to pet a guinea pig if it doesn't want you to.

My piggie doesn't bite. She has mistaken my finger for a carrot once or twice, but never just bit me for no reason.
Maybe the mommy piggie was a biter.
You can teach the little critter not to bite. It will take lots of patience though.

maybe she thought your finger was food, i think it is unusal for a guinea pig to bite, if she does it would be for self defense

just like other animals, they're trying to defense themself. i mean to them, you are like a giant and what if you do something bad to it? so they bite ( it tickles sometimes XD). another reason is that maybe they're too hungry, they thought that your finger is ... food. oh yeah when they're hungry they would squeak XD! i don't really understand why they pee so much though.

Bite ... what? They gnaw on things because, like other rodents, their teeth grow like our nails do and they are basically filing their teeth. If one is biting you, it may be frightened and trying to protect itself.
