If you are getting a pop-up warning you that your computer is infected AND if it's telling you to click onto it to download a program to remove it then THAT is probably a SPAMWARE. Does the pop-up balloon looks like one of your anti-spyware or anti-spamware?? If not then that is probably junk. You need to run some anti-spyware programs or stop going to the site where you keep getting that popping up. If it's popping up randomly then that pop-up is probably in your computer. Run those free programs like SPYBOT or AD-AWARE.
You could also change settings to block pop-ups but then you may not be able to play yahoo games because the tables are pop-ups.

just run an anti-spyware program like norton anti-virus. they're not too expensive and a good investment if you insist on using a pc with ms internet explorer. set it up to run a diagnostic weekly and that should keep your computer fairly clean.
the real solution is to switch to a less virus prone browser like firefox or opera. they work the same as explorer but without all the pesky viruses (sp?).

Yes. It depends on what you are using to have this warning appear. If you are using Norton, McAfee (or whatever you are using). Just open up one of those programs and turn off alerts notifications. Example, Norton Internate Security you just simply turn off Outbreak Alerts Notification

Install 2 antispyware programs (I use Spybot and Ad Aware Personal). Update and run them about once a week.

This is adware. Upgrading Internet Explorer to SP2 (Service Pack 2) will fix the problem. Go to Microsoft's site to upgrade.

those are fake popups trying to get you to buy something.
most modern browsers have pop-up blockers built in, just turn those on. you'll have to give us more info on what browser you're using. or you can buy pop-up blocker software.
