is that referring to the current card, or does it mean that the computer cannot handle anything more?

In most cases, that does mean that the laptop uses "shared video memory" meaning that part of the main system RAM is reserved for video. Using main system RAM is slower and not as efficient as having a dedicated video card or chip on the motherboard.

However, newer laptops aren't necessarily that way. Many have a dedicated area on the motherboard with it's own memory and GPU (graphics processing unit). These laptops obviously perform better in 3D games.

The downside with any laptop of course, is that you can't add a video card to it. So for gaming, a desktop serves you better if you want to stay current and get the most out of it.

It means that the system can SHARE up to 64MB of the system's RAM for the video card.... that's what most laptops have. Not a good thing if you're a hardcore gamer.

Generally on any PC or laptop you have a Video RAM which is used for display purpose, this what video memory is all about.

Upto 64 MB Video RAM means that the slot can handle only 64 MB RAM only.
