What do you think will happen to your soul when you die?
The "soul" has been considered to be a form of energy that exists within every human being that is the essence of their being. The soul exists to define the human being, it is a spark of the lightening bolt that created life in a murky soup known as Earth. Basically, since the soul is energy, and energy cannot be destroyed nor created, when you die that energy is released into the environment.

Well, i guess i would start by saying what is the point of life if we don't have a soul? I guess we could be completely insignificant, plague like beings that just take over what ever there is. Then we cease to exist... but why? Personally i do believe we have a soul and that the soul was created by God. I assure you that this belief doesn't bring "comfort" to unknown questions. I would still love to know a great many details about life. However, i understand that there are things in life beyond my comprehension.
Yes the heart stops and the brain dies, but neither of those are your soul. Just as the body returns from the earth where it came from the soul returns from where it came (God). God is the judge of what your fate will be from there. Depending on whether or not we you believe what the Bible says about sin and salvation, you may or may not believe this. Take a chance and read the Bible though.. it can answer this question far better than I.

The answer for the question can be very simple yet complex.

People always look for the answer of "where do I go after I died?"

To be rational, the answer is very simple, dead is the end of biological activities, body will be degraded and break down into organic chemicals. (H, O, C, N, P elements)

But for certain people who believe in miracle like Albert Einstein said,
"There are only two ways to live your life, one is as though nothing is a miracle, and the other is as though
everything is a miracle."

They will create many theories to explain the question before knowing biology.
The answer turns out to be individual belief!
If the Individual belief is being promoted and appreciated and eventually the individual belief became religion or philosophy.
Such thing like God, soul, Satan, heaven, hell and etc.

(You can believe anything you want as long as it comforts your mind. Period!)

After all, rational or irrational explanation doesn't really matter when you are dead. You have no control in the world physically.

People believe in heaven because they believe in hell. It's up to the person on what to believe. However, it's a scientific fact that your mind does not stop after your heart does. You're brain shows slight amounts of function up to 3 days after the giving death date. Scientists don't know why, but theories state everything from preparation for "heaven" to souls journey to another dimension. Oh also, science has detected what they call a 'soul' in the body. It does not die after the body does, but it lingers on earth.

A belief commonly associated with Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism although some Christians are incorporating it into their theology as well. This is the understanding that the soul of each person is reborn into another body on earth after death. Rebirth is connected with karma in that the kind of body the soul is reborn into is determined by balancing the good and bad deeds a person has done in their former life/lives and how spiritually enlightened they are. In Hinduism the soul is only liberated from the birth/death/rebirth cycle (samsara) when a person achieves moksha (spiritual liberation and union with Brahman).

no where but into another body which is in the embryo stage...
i believe in the following:
the soul is a particle which carries no mass, no size, ne weight, no shape, no appearance... this "no"particle assumes another embyo when it is sent out from the present body naturally. the life of the particle continues infinitely... the soul is infinetisimally small.
when the death is natural, the soul will tranfer to another available form where intercourse has taken place and egg is conjoined with a sperm.
if the death is intentional, the soul would not find its place to go...
i believe that a person dies or the soul leaves a body when there is another body ready for it... this is a cyclic process. think you can understand....

Straight out - I believe Jesus Christ is who He said he was and I believe there is a Heaven and a hell.

Having said that, if you read the bible and see how it is God calls us to live, it's hard work! That stuff about loving your neighbor and if someone strikes you give them the other cheek -- I don't know about you but none of that is easy for me. So no, I don't believe the God is a human construct, we're far too lazy to make life that much work.

The simple challenge to any non-believer is to ask God if He exists, and if He does to reveal himself to you. God will probably not answer you with a burning bush, but He will not hide from you if you seek Him. After all, isn't it better to find out now?

It's hard not to believe what you want to believe.
Some people like the idea of a nice welcoming place in the afterlife where they are re-united with their loved ones for ever.
Personally the idea of being stuck with my family for the rest of eternity sounds absolutely hellish!

Other people subscribe to the notion that 'to think is to be full of sorrow' and yearn for simple oblivion.

I find myself drawn to the latter, yet I also have a hope that we are on an eternal loop through life, and when we die we get reborn into a new life and have the chance to see if we can get it right this time!

So you are dead, and you are over the other side, life there is not as bad as you thought, dy-ing is not so frightening at all. There was nothing in your life that you did for you to be in the worse place for the dead, life continues , remember where you are you may meet your maker. Obviously , you are not in the highest place - Heaven , so you have not met God as yet. Terrible fights, wars and rumours of wars some-times occur on the other side, so never forget God, where-ever you are. Lay down and take your rest, you are tired, Jesus loves you best, bid you good-night.John 3 : 16.

One of the oldest books in the world is the
"Tibetan Book of the dead"

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i9FxdTMJpIs

dunno how well you get 'youtube' video stuff,
but this one is Leonard Cohen narrating
"Tibetan Book of the Dead" ....

This is from what MIGHT be the oldest written
book on earth ... it's pretty profound stuff
and might be upsetting to view, since it
describes the process of dying and what a
person experiences in that process.

Still, Leonard Cohen is an excellent poet
and songwriter and I thought it was worth
viewing.

Many people throughout history have tried to speak of
what becomes of the "person"/"soul" after the
death-event.

Unless you know already, it might be worth your while to
investigate what other people have recorded ... no one
has ever invalidated this book.

good luck and good living and when the time comes,
may your journey be blessed

peace
