Some people never dialate and have to be given medication. Walking can help you dialate. Everyone is different so there is no answer to this question.

Normally it's within two days, according to the book I read by MDs about pregnancy and child birth. But not guaranteed. Every woman is different.
If the bleeding continues, you should call your doc. That might be the early separation of placenta from the uterus. This would be very dangerous for the baby.
Call the doc if you don't feel the baby move at all, let's say for more than a half day.
When the contraction becomes regular and getting more and more intense, it's time to call the doc and go to the hospital.
By the way, if water breaks, go to the hospital right away.
I am about to have my third baby :) Good luck and hope everything goes well for you!

Altho it does mean that the ball is a rolling it doesn't mean that it will happen soon. It can still take a few weeks. Usually longer with your first. It's not an exact science. Some people have nothing then go into labor and have the baby half an hour later and some walk around dilated to a 5 with the baby dropped and go like that for days.
You will know when it's time, kinda hard not to notice it lol
Congratulations

I questioned the comparable situation whilst i became pregnant! My healthcare expert suggested it basically relies upon.. it ought to be some days to three weeks. yet definite, you need to be dilated to lose your mucus plug, this is above your cervix and it won't be able to come out until you have dilated some. yet you could stay dilated for weeks and not something exchange. this is a huge guessing game. Congratulations!

Losing your plug doesn't affect how much you're dilated. There's no way to tell how fast/slow you'll dilate up to 10. If I were you I'd get a book from the library on pregnancy, you don't have too much longer left, but since you're probably tired (and hot!) anyways, sit down and read something about what's going to happen to your body. I read everything I could get my hands on while I was pregnant, about pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, etc. It really helps to know what's going to happen. Didn't you take any birthing classes, teaching you how to breathe, what to expect, when to go to the hospital and all that important stuff? If you didn't...unfortunately it's too late now, but getting a book could sure help you, or since you're online anyways, put in childbirth, or pregnancy and do a little research so you know what's coming.
