It is no trouble at all to come up with different tasks that either the P-4 or Pentium-D do better at. This is why there are so many different benchmarks - because no single system is fastest at everything. And the total system performance depends on more than just processor. You stick a fast CPU with some slow RAM or disk, and the system will *still* go "oink" like a pig when you ask it to do something

Playing "my CPU is faster than your CPU" is a losing game. And I should know - I've played that game with some of the fastest supercomputers in the world.

The Pentium-D Is "DUAL CORE" Thus Making it far superior to the Pentium-4 It's like having two Pentium-4's in one to be simplistic, Below is a far more in-depth discussion of both Processors and what they can do, Hope this helps!

Pentium 4, but make sure you have enough RAM in it. You should get either 512 or 1gig of RAM to make sure it performs at full potential
