never wear you're birthday suit because anything could happen during the night for instance like a fire are you gonna run out your house naked or what if someone breaks into your like a man seeing you naked is gonna make him forget about robbing you and doing something a little more nasty and mean so to prevent that just sleep with cloths on im sure you don't go walking out in the streets butt naked now do you

Something lightweight that allows for easy movement over the course of the night. Moreover, something that you feel comfortable in and that you won't be too warm or cold wearing. For women in summer, lots of time this is a night shirt or light sweatpants and a big shirt or tanktop. The choice is ultimately yours.

a nightshirt - after reading shireen's answer I will consider strapping on a pistol for added comfort and security --- seriously tho she makes a good point
(When volunteering for ambulance, it made more sense to stay in underwear so you could "run" just a little quicker)

I just sleep in normal clothes! Not like jeans or anything, but I pick out some of my more comfier clothes and sleep in that!
