The Squirrel represents the ability to plan ahead and is very industrious. He represents natural intelligence and the protector of reserves.
In antiquity the squirrel was a symbol of Hermes because of its ability to move to many different levels.
In medieval symbolism the red squirrel represents the Devil because of its alacrity and its fire-red color.
The Spirit of the Squirrel represents meaningful work. When there is work to be done the squirrel works hard
So turning into a squirrel isn't such a bad thing after all =).
