I'm listening it to it right now and I've always thought it was one of the most depressing darkest songs ever. Every time I listen to it I just feel sad and empty, but I can't stop listening, kinda haunting. makes me miss being young and having the world in front of me, and the whole "send a smile over to you" line gets me everytime cause I can relate to sort of just giving people a fake small smile just so that I can hide the stuff going on in my head.

Ever? I think Mr. Bob Dylan holds the "ever" title for every song EVER written. On that note, a contender for saddest song ever is "Not Dark Yet."

I was a fan of Smashing pumpkins when I was in high school, but now they just seem dated to me. Mr. Corgan's music is very self-involved, which prevents most of his songs to endure -- at least to my ear. Of course though, Smashing Pumpkins seemed like they were great in their time, because they were surrounded by garbage bands. They were a big fish in a small pond.

But I digress... Bob Dylan writes the saddest songs EVER.

Listen to "Disappointed" by Electronic. That song is the epitomization of depthless sadness.
