i was watching maury some few days ago, the topic was some paternity test drama. one girl had twins and claimed one guy to be the father of her twins. the paternity test came back, and he was the father for ONLY ONE TWIN. how is that possible?

It is possible, but very rare. Twins would be fraternal (not identical). Two sperms get two eggs makes fraternal twins, so it is feasible (though unlikely) that two different men could father twins. It would have to be very close timing. As in - she slept with more than one guy VERY close together. Not necessarily hours, but no more than a couple days. I remember this subject being in the news several years ago when one lady gave birth to a set of twins. One was white. The other was black.

The chances of having twins is pretty low for most natural conceptions anyways, so of course then the chance of having twins with different fathers is even lower. The woman would have to have more than one partner during her fertile time, AND she'd have to ovulate more than once (or release more than one egg.)

It is possible because she had sex with two different guys when she was ovulating. Some women drop more than one egg a month...so obviously two eggs got fertilized at the same time by two different men. It's not very common but it does happen...I hope I explained this clearly enough.
