Whoa everyone! Back up off him for a minute. There are two possible reasons he asked the question:

1--He could be an ignorant SOB trying to get a rise out of us all

--------------------------OR---------------------

2--Maybe he was raised in a predominately white community and generally believes the black folks are staring at him.

All black people are curious and observant (and before I get even ONE nasty note, i can make that statement, I'm a black woman, hence the screen name; black-bi-diva).

Can't quite tell you why. I remember my grandmother use to sit in the window (out of view) talking shiznits about the people across the street. She was a pro at looking like she wasn't staring at you.

I myself unconciously observe people. We all do. Black folks are a little more open and free with what we do. Just a cultural difference. Then again there are black folks who wouldn't dare mix the salad fork with the desert fork...at least not while you're watching....

It's not always black people. Some mexicans stare--I know a lot of them. Some white people stare. It has nothing to do with race. Some people don't even realize that they're doing it.
