Try Skin-so-Soft by Avon - I don't know what is in it, but it really works! It repels mosquitos better than anything else I know of. You may have to pay a little extra, but it is well worth it. Mosquitos hate it.

to prevent a mosquito bite you have to be very careful with this. First, when you and your child go outside spray some repellent in your skin ( remmember that most repellent only lasts 6 hours), specially in at nigh spy insecticide all over the house, with the windows close. Remmember that mosquitos are attracted to bright light at night, so when you put your child to sleep try not to turn on the lights. This might be very expensive but it may work or if you are very desesperated, put powerful incsecticides around de house.
If you dont have money there is another form, the mosquito dont like smoke, so try to put smoke in those places ( I personally dont reccomend this but it works)

Get a mosquito magnet for your backyard. This machine is not that cheap, and works great. It send out carbon dioxide, like human breaths. Mosquitos sense the CO2 and flies toward the machine thinking it's a yummy meal, only to be trapped by the net in the machine. This thing catches tons of mosquitos, and within the effective range, you'll see drastically fewer of them. It's not cheap, but works wonders.
