it is illegal if you download songs/whatever without a license with the song/whatever. it wrecked my laptop twice. it is spyware. it doesn't necessarily slow your computer down but it logs every single thing you do (shut down, restart, check email, etc.) and someone is viewing your actions.

Limewire is a P2P software, it is illegal if you downloaded copyright-protected movies or songs. Yes it slows down your computer, especially when you are downloading a lot of items. Limewire eats up quite a lot of memory when it starts running.

However, remember to virus-scan the items you downloaded before you open them. As virus might be attached to them, if you are not careful, your computer might be infected. It might pose as another reason for slowing down your computer

Yes its illegal. But I just think of its this way...Its not like Im selling the music im downloading, so im good.

And itll only slow it down if youve got a crappy computer or 20 songs downloading at once.

First of all,

Is limewire illegal? No, owning limewire is not illegal. Downloading coppyrighted material, however, is very illegal.

Does it slow your computer down?

It depends, if you have enough RAM, no, and if you download .exe files that could contain viruses/malware/spyware/adware then yes.

Yeah, it's illegal but I've had it on my computer for 2 years and I haven't gotten any viruses or anything. It's free, too.
