We refer to tiny little living complexes as "APARTments" because the are each "a part" of a greater whole. Did you know that the first apartments were also supposed to include things like conveniences stores and job places. They were supposed to be small, compact communities, not places of mass squalor which they ended up becoming shortly after their origination. Since then, they have become what they are today, widely varied places of living.

Is this someone else who is going through all the "tough questions" websites? Because tonight I've seen this question, "why do drive thru ATMs have braille" and a couple of others on that list. Go ahead and ask it: Why do we park in driveways and drive on parkways? And why don't packages of buns & hotdogs match up in number? (that one's easy to answer anyway).

They're just apartments, apartments are apartments.....If you're renting a medium sized rooms in the middle of the city, it's technically(In my terms) and apartment.
