It was just to get young people to realize that voting is something that can change the course of your life if you elect candidates that care about the same things as you. It can also negatively affect your life it you don't show up. When you get the chance, don't take the right for granted.

The campaign's message, promoted on t-shirts and other things, is "Vote or Die!". Many American television shows (most notably South Park and the Daily Show with Jon Stewart) have parodied this campaign as laughably hyperbolic, unnecessarily violent, and an obvious presentation of a false choice.
Ironically, one of the proponents of the "Vote or Die" campaign, Paris Hilton, did not vote - or even register to vote - in the election.
It was later brought up that all Citizen Change was looking to do was sell clothes. While no one has proven this, their website has been down since these allegations came out.

Citizen Change is a political service group, founded by music mogul P. Diddy, and backed by Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent. The group aims to "hip young people to the hustle of the politics by educating them about the power of their vote." Created in 2004, the stated aim was to get young people to vote, but critics alleged that the ultimate aim was to get out the vote of a demographic viewed as likely to vote against the incumbent George W. Bush. However, 50 Cent would later come out in favor of the President.

Its just another way of saying vote or else... all political stuff. Vote for a president or you'll suffer without a leader to help. Pretty much like that. It doesnt really mean to DIE its just to put everyone at ease to do something "right" and vote for who the think should be leader. hehe anyway, get it?
AND P-DIDDY, DID NOT COME UP WITH IT LOL IT WAS WAY BEFORE HIS TIME THE PUT UP A SIGN THAT SAID VOTE OR DIE. IT WAS WHEN WORLD WAR 1 OR 2 HAPPENED.

It was supposed to be a catchy slogan to get young people to the polls. Like all these rich old farts are passing the kind of laws that make other rich old farts happy and leaving us hip young liberals wither and die. I personally prefer the slogan that goes "If you don't vote, don't ***** about who ends up running the country." You'll be 18 by the next presidential election. Maybe you could think of something a little less... crazy.

Not Just some rapper PDiddy aka Sean Combs. Basically it was an extreme way of telling people that they should make sure and vote if they're eligible and not to just sit back and let other people make the decisons for them.

It was Pdiddy trying to do his public service thing. I thought it was a little over the top. I mean...ok if I don't vote...so does that mean some men in black to kill me. I mean...I thought I had the "right to vote"....not the "demand to vote"....
Unless someone think different...I did vote...I'm just saying that was a stupid campaign.

P. Diddy was trying to tell everyone that voting was virtually more important than life at that election. It was trying to drive a point home.
