To those who think freedom in the US isn't dying, I say open your eyes. Our entire Govt system (our democracy) is falling apart, and we are unable to stop it. Our voting system is flawed--look at the presidential election of 2002. GWB lost by 500,000 votes, but he is our president.. We are dependent on the media to uncover stories of spying on citizens, secret prisons, and torture. What is their reward? The executive branch has threatened to charge them for leaking classified information. Whatever happened to free speech & freedom of the press? The ABA has just filed a report that our President has broke the law over 800 times by signing line item vetos, which are unlawful under our legal system, Our Congress no longer bows to the will of the people. We have been sold out to special interest groups for campaign funds & votes. Our jobs are being outsourced to other countries for the sake of economy and big business. We have 46 million Americans without health care. Energy costs rise daily, but we do not drop the energy tax to help the citizens, yet oil companies will profit $40 billion dollars this year alone. We have tax cuts &
loop holes to decrease taxes for the wealthy and yet we can't raise the minimum wage for the poorest tax payers. The defense dept has asked for $17 million to replace armored vehicles & artilleries lost in the war and yet, there has been no bill to request these items from the president (during war time).
And if that's not bad enough-our economic system is on the verge of crashing. And yet we continue to print money (counterfeit?) so our economy looks like it is on the rebound. Foreign markets hold our notes (and ports) and we are unable to secure our borders due to Govt interference, even during war time. As far as the rest of the world? They will enjoy our plight. It will not effect them in the least. Take a good look around you, stop & smell the roses, when the nuclear holocost happens, the United States will not be safe, and it will not be free.

That is a very good question and a nice clip to show how things could be if we don't stand up for our constitutional right of freedom of speech. To answer your question I would say if the U.S. goes down the tube most every nation will follow. We should all do our part to make sure this does not happen here, the world may be depending on us.
Would you please take a look at about 8 - 10 minutes of this interview with Professor Steven Jones ? It's a 45 minute video and well worth looking at , to its end. At the very least, pass it on to those you care about.

Good work on the Video. If freedom dies in America, I am not going to be too concerned with the rest of the world, I am going to be too busy trying to desperately organize the underground here.

Freedom, true freedom that is, had been dead a long time. How can you look around and call what we have free? If you want freedom then move to a country that is trully more free than we are, like Australia, New Zealand, Iceland, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, or Switzerland to name a few.

Nothing will happen and the world will move on as usual. And in no way it would affect the world.
Do you think that the world's existence depends on US? There was no US from time immemorial (it was formed only in 1700 or so) and the world has come through age.
This attitude of Americans, that everyone depends on them, has made other countries to hate US and its citizens.

You question is faulty because it assumes that freedom was an invention of the united states and it will stop existing elsewhere if the US faulters. There is freedon elsewhere in the world and right now yours are compomised by wartime legislation.

Chaos.
I say that because as it is, when anything happens in the world today, all I hear is what the UN and the US is going to do about it.
It seems to me that the world always looks to the US to solve their problems. Remember, I said it seems like.
