Awww congrats on the daughter, we found out today that we are having a baby girl also. We decided to name her Kaylyn Marie (family ties).
As far as the names go, go with something that has a meaning to you and if you would like to incorporate you or his family into the name. The name will bring more satisfaction knowing it wasn't just off the wall.

I get a lot of compliments about my daughter's name because it is not one that you hear that often.
Her name is Alina (which means bright and beautiful) she is named after her great great grandmother(Aline) who got to see here at 94 years of age
Her middle name is Bryanne (which means strong) and that name was chosen for my father (Bryan)
Choose a name that is special to you, look back into the families and see if there is a name that you could manipulate to make it new and original!
Good luck and let us know what you have chosen!

Don't give her some outlandish name, or one that is cute when she is young but not-so-cute when she is grown and in the adult world. She's gotta live with the name for the rest of her life.

Haiveh and Terah
Haiveh is pronounced Hey-vah
Terah is Tear-ah
Terah was one of my best friends until she moved, and Haiveh was her daughter. I loved their names because it fit them perfectly. Haiveh was blonde hair blue eyes barbie doll. Terah was tall skinny super model type of girl. I want to name my daughters after them.

don't use goofy spellings. it's not original, it's a pain. it will just make things harder, always correcting people. i'm sure teachers love it. also, advice---think about this child when they are just finishing college and putting that name on a resume. your child's personalitly will be enough to make her unique and original. believe me. anyway, this site is fun. http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/ it's from the social security database...and it ranks new baby names by popularity, by state, gives info by years...etc.
