I think he is a great speaker for the reasons that you have listed. He is also a fine President. My favorite speech was when he stood before Congress and named the axis of evil. I also loved his speech at the WTC. He has shown great character in the face of fierce adversity

first of all the word is most definitely NOT nucular. here is the proper spelling: nuclear. the link below is to a dictionary definition with a pronunciation guide.
secondly, i think bush does speak from his heart. he and the people around him have convinced themselves so well that what they are doing is right that when they speak there is no hesitation. bush seems to be very good at making stump speeches that are basically the same regardless of venue.
but when he is confronted with new information and he has to think on his feet he is hopeless. look at the debates of 2000 and 2004: he refused to participate unless he was given the questions in advance. a good speaker can think on his feet and speak intelligently and articulately about a variety of subjects.
bush is just a talking head really.

President Bush never was a glib speaker, but he's a lot better than he was in 2000. Very few people are all that great in front of a microphone, but that isn't the only measure, or even a very good measure of them as people. Think about actor Jimmy Stewart and master of ceremonies Ed Sullivan. Both were lousy in front of a mike.

Oh boy I hope it is a while before you can vote if you think Bush is a good President. You had better dig into some archives on this dude as soon as possible ! Look what the guy has done to the economy and a lot more. But then you must be from a rich family. He is a disgrace to America !

Most of my family voted for "the Bushes" I did not.I have and will always support our commander in chief, but it's getting really tough to do it when it seems all he wants to do is play cowboys and indians. We are going to have to rebuild all these countries when it's over. And guess who will profit from that?Bushes buddies. We will never know what kind of compensation he or his family will receive many many years from now!!Is he a good speaker?Sure just ask Tony Blair,he heard up close and personal ever cuss word he said after the G8 summit.Made me so proud!!

I think GWB may have some very good qualities but the truth of the matter is that he is and has been doing a very poor job.
Actions speak louder than words.

Bush doesn't sound like a person who knows a lot of what he's talking about.

He's not bad when he's simply delivering a speech that he's rehearsed. His speech to congress after 9/11 was one of the best orations ever.
But when he goes off the cuff and speaks extemporaneously, he gets that "deer in the headlights" look...and sounds about like I did when I was in Junior High trying to give a book report on a book I had never read.

I think Bush is a good ( not great) but good president, but he is a poor public speaker. Also remember people write his speeches, and all presidents had speech writters.
Clinton was a great speaker, and so was Reagan.

The speaches you hear from Bush are meant to appeal to the type of people who don't like a competent forward thinking government. He is not one of the "folks" no matter how he appears.
