Not really, but it can be little uncomfortable. Just try to stay relaxed, and it's over before you know it. If you really feel uncomfortable, talk to you health care provider, and have her explain everything to you. You shouldn't be embarrassed to talk to her about any concerns you have. Take a deep breath, and get it done.

The only part that could cause you pain is the thing they put inside of you and open up. It's not that bad though. Just relax and try not to think about it. It's over quickly. If you have a good doctor, they'll try to make conversation with you. It's a little bit akward, but because you're talking, you don't even think about the fact that they're all up in your area.

No, it does not hurt but it may feel a little uncomfortable. The doctor will insert a certain size speculum inside of you, depending on the tightness or looseness of your vagina. The speculum will have lubrication on it, so there will not be any pain. Then once the speculum is inserted in you, they will then open up the speculum so they can see your cervix.
They will then take a little brush thing and scrape it on your cervix--they do this so they can scrape cells to check for any abnoralities.
-Then you're all done!

I know the feeling! I went for my first one a couple months ago, I was so scared!.

It actually wasnt really painfull at all, more uncomfortable then anything, just relax and try not to tense up because that can cause it to be painfull!. Its quick!

Not painful you will feel some pressure during the manual exam where the doc inserts fingers and presses on your abdomen. Just try to relax you'll do just fine.

A question that's on my mind to. All the people I've talked to said no but I cannot say from personal experience. This site says that you may have very slight pain if any at all. http://www.gurl.com/findout/dwi/pages/0,,670832,00.html
You'll probibly experience less if you remain relaxed. So talk to you doctor, she or he will tell you what to expect.

When I have mine done, I think it is more uncomfortable if anything. I have mine done every year and I don't tolerate pain well, but my exams don't hurt. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
