We all know Russel Crowe should have won best actor. Just so you don't think I'm racist, I think Jamie Foxx earned and deserved his oscar.

I don't know if they gave them for chartiy, but know that whole thing was f-ed up. Both of them have done much better roles than what they won Oscars for. Denzel did "Remember the Titans" , "John Q" and "Man of Fire." All of them were extremely good movies, better than that piece of crap called "Training Day". Halle Berry, has had some good roles. But I don't think any have been Oscar-worthy.

Denzel earned and deserved his. His training day character was amazing work.
Russell is his own worst enemy - one needs to court the academy voters a little. Russell should have won for the Insider rather than Gladiator and I still cannot believe that He didn't even get a nomination for his Bud White for LA Confidential. His performance in Romper Stomper was mesmerizing and chilling. See it if you haven't.
Halle is pretty. She isn't bad....That's all I'm going to say.
I thought Jamie was amazing and deserved a better script and director. He deserved his win. Did you see him in Ali ? That was a tremendous performance - should have won for that.

Denzel was long overdue for an oscar, just maybe not for Training Day (he should have gotten it for Malcolm X, imho)
Halle - eh! Not so much.
It's just that formula that as long as a beautiful actress portrays a "normal person" to prove they're serious - gain weight, wear no makeup - they're a shoe in for the oscar.
Halle apparently went beyond the call, even went as far as screw Billy Bob on screen (Hell Angelina didn't even have to do that!!!!)

I personally think they both deserved them. Denzel did a wonderful job in Training Day. He has always played the good guy... and I think this proves that he can act. I never expected that type of character from him. But, I loved it.
Halle... I missed her getting hers, so I'm not sure what movie she got it for. But, I've seen her in several different roles as well, and I think she does a wonderful job. Ever seen "Losing Isaiah"? She's awesome.
Just my opinion. :-)

They didn't get the oscars for charity, it was plain politics, like you know this oscars were in 2002 right after 9/11???

Halle Berry can real act she earned tha oscar and Denzel can act too, he too can real act and earned his oscar so no it was not charity
