Like all cliches it has some truth to it, otherwise it wouldn't be a cliche. When you love someone, you can't see them clearly. So you might not mind that their aparment smells like cat piss, even though that is gross. I think we've all been "in love" with someone and then later were like, "I must have been crazy."
To say that "love is blind" is oversimplified though. You fall in love with a person, and people are made up of their personalities and their actions. So whether they are funny, ugly, or have money DOES matter in love. I think it's so dumb when people say, "If you really loved him you wouldn't care about financial issues." A romantic, loving, relationship is still a human relationship, and we live in the real world where all these things matter. Otherwise, why would there be divorces? We clearly aren't blind to everything about someone we love.

Yes, Love is Blind. That is why you have to work so hard at staying in love. If you don't, then all the things you don't want to see (but are still there) will come out and bit you.

Yes I do believe that.... but even though it sounds all romantic, its really not always a very positive thing. It implies ppl's attitude/ behavior etc. doesnt matter if you love them and thats just not right. It also suggests that one is willing to accept whatever is given for the sake of love. That shouldnt be - ppl should go into relationships with their eyes wide open,so as to avoid future problems. Its the rational thing to do.... but easier said than done I guess.

Yes, I believe that saying. When I met my husband he was too good to be true, literally. But, I was in love with him and this image he painted for me. I couldn't see through the lies. I couldn't see through the games. Now I'm stuck with him and he treats me like crap whenever he feels like it.

yes, because alot of times people want it to work so badly with someone they choose to ignore the bad things about that person and try to make excuses for things. But I think that they really can't love the person because they are not experiencing unconditional love. They have to try to justify in their minds that they are in love. But if it is true love, you won't have to make excuses you will love unconditionally and just accept.
