It might not seem like a huge age gap: my boyfriend is 19 and I'm 17, but in reality the difference between 12 and 16 is a lot. Even though she'll be 13 soon, they're both kind of young...you know? I know I wouldn't go out with someone who is 14.
I think if they wait a few years, it will be okay. But 12 is really kind of young, to be going out with someone who is 16.

First of all, I think you are quite young by even asking that question.."do u think she has a chance with im? a chance for what?
First, has she asked her Mom if she could go out with a 16 year old boy?
As a mom, No, she is too young....maybe she feels like she is a grown up...
however 12 is way too young to date....especially a 16 year old boy.
He is 4 years older, or 3 1/2 yrs older. They could be friends, but dating no way.
the 16 year old should be with his age group, not with a 12 or 13 year young girl.
Could be, he thinks she knows nothing about sex, and it would be tragic if she became with child at that age.

I'm sure she has a chance with him, he's a guy. But, she's too young to be seeing a 16 year old. Boys at that age are very, very sexually active and your lil' sis does not need to be around someone like that. Have them just keep it as friends. Even if he IS a virgin, when teens get together and hormones get goin' things start to happen.

Age can be a very big thing when you are that young. 12 and 16 are very different times in a teens life. The things a sixteen year old wants can be different than a twelve year old.
I would advise that is not a good idea but If she insists warn her to be cautious. He sounds like he is probably a good guy but lots of trauma can come from this on both sides.

No way if hes 16 and shes 12, its not a good idea. there is too much of an age difference. at 16 your looking for a serious relationship, and a 12 year old doesn't need to be and shouldn't be involved in a commited relationship at that age.

Too much of an age difference. I don't think a 16 year old would want to go out with a 13 year old. In fact, I just asked my 16 years old son and he said he would not go out with a girl younger than 15.

I dont think that she shouldd because at her age she really shouldnt date.
Also the boy might go to your church and be a family friend and nice but when he isnt around your family how is he is the question?
I think 16 is just a little to old for a 12 yr old.

Most likely not. There are some really nice 16 y/o boys at my church but they wouldn't go for a 12 y/o. Their friends would make fun of them. And at their age, image is everything.

yea, i mean im 13, and i had a chance with a 17(just turn 17) but it didnt work out so we are really really close, we arent going out, but we are friends with benefits
but to answer your quetion yea, if your sister is pretty(no offense), then she does have a chance, i dont understand why peopl think that a 13 is too young for a 16! its only 4 years, but when he turns 18, then there could be an issue

Anyone can go to church, it doesn't mean they're a good person. She's too young to date and WAYY to young for a 16 year old. If they're really serious and like each other than they should wait until she's older seeing as she's probably not reading for emotional situations at that age.
