could be mastitis - an infection in the glands of the breast...or possibly caused by hormonal fluxuation brought on by pre-menopause. It can even be a sign (though I wouldn't get freaked out by this) of breast cancer. Your best bet would be to see a doctor as even if it's just an infection, it'll need treatment.

Well, it could be a mild infection or it could be a symptom of breast cancer. Any time you have something going on with a part of your body that is a typical cancer site for your gender, GO TO THE DOCTOR.
