I will be in Rio de Janeiro for the month of August and ideally I'd like to arrange a homestay for that time. That way I could practice my portuguese and get some regular contact with Brazilians. Does anyone have any advice on how to find a family or person with an extra room they're willing to rent in Rio?

Let me know who you are. Are you a guy? My mom lives in the west zone of Rio about an hour from the popular beaches. She has an extra room and my brother and his wife live there too. There is a pool, which may be be empty right now because of the cold weather. She could provide you with food also. There are buses that go everywhere from her town. There is one that is a little more expensive (r$5.) but is more comfortable and air conditioned, that goes to the city and near beach areas. Let me know where you are from also and where you live right now. tabushi11209@yahoo.com
