It depends how I view enlightenment. I think of it has achieving my goals to the fullest and living my life the best way I can. Giving to other when I'm able to, helping other when I'm able to and learning everything from everyone and never thinking of myself as superior. Then I would call it reaching it enlightenment.
I really want to reach it one day. By that I mean I want to dedicate my life to the needy and this is how I view enlightenment(peace fullness and true happiness).

Enlightenment can be viewed either as an ongoing process (as a verb), or as an end state of being (as a noun). Simply being "enlightened" (noun) seems like a state that offers no chance for future growth. Being enlightened (verb) is the process of growing your mind, a more proper way to think and view the world around you that avoids logical fallacies and the deceit of wishful thinking (unfounded beliefs). It is having intellectual integrity.
Enlightenment as a noun doesn't particularly appeal to me, but enlightenment as a verb definitely does!

I think enlightenment is possessing all knowledge and wisdom and having a sense of being and becoming one with every minute particle in the universe in all of its planes and levels of existence. Being a student of theoretical physics, I also believe in the possibility of multiple and parallel universes to our own. So, my ideas are pretty far out in more ways than one! As for me, I shall spend eternity becoming enlightened and never finishing my task. I do not believe any mortal can ever become all knowing by any sort of tricks of magic or trances.

Of course I do.
Enlightenment is just being self aware to the highest level possible for you. ( not everyone is the same) It is only a good thing to see yourself as the world sees you and be at peace with what you see.

Ultimate 'enlightenment' would probably be pretty boring from this standpoint.... I mean, what would you do for the rest of eternity? Just hang around knowing it all? Booor-ring!
This whole "Life" thing is quite entertaining and I love pursuing the cosmic knowledge I have managed to hide so well from myself! lol

Kant's definition of enlightenment is
Enlightenment is man's release from his self-incurred tutelage. Tutelage is the incapacity to use one's own understanding without the guidance of another. Such tutelage is self-imposed if its cause is not lack of intelligence, but rather a lack of determination and courage to use one's intelligence without being guided by another.
I don't want to be a mental slave to others, and I to a large degree, I don't believe that I am.

Enlightenment to me is when I no longer will be affected by outside influences. I would be able to handle all situations in a calm and mindful way.

when u r so unattached from material stuff and ego that u completely intergrate your entire being with the whole of everything, which is supposed 2 be really great, but if ur normal like us u can't understand what's so great about it. so one cool thing is that u become invisible... or everyone thinks ur dead (not so cool).
