Vanity means having a huge ego while others think little of you. Glory is just the opposite, being humble when those around you think of you with greatness and true respect.

Vainglory is being great but also having a huge ego, and I think that's where most entertainers fall. I don't know about Lincoln, though I don't think he had an inflated ego.

dont know the definition. no dictionary at home. And you are the first male-avatar that I saw who has glasses on-- pretty cool. The three famous people you mention all had great glory. That should be obvious to you-- duuh Im sure Madonna will have many more glory in her lifetime

We are mortal.Lincoln,lennon gained immortality, by dying.Not sure of madonna,that's not to suggest in any way,she's not a great entertainer.Churchill with his unshakable belief,in the defeat of nazi germany To name a living person who fits the category nelson mandela.Only my opinion What separates the wheat from the chaff,is thier message of right.
