My husband and I had sex today and the ovulation calendar said I'd be ovulating yesterday and today. When is the soonest I'll be able to test for it?

You need to have sex BEFORE you ovulate. It's one of the biggest misconceptions.

I suggest you wait until you are late. No point wasting the money and setting yourself up for disappointment.

well how it works is that when u r ovulating it is for 7days total (in most people ) but the first three days r when the egg is being released an it take up to three day for a sperm to die after sex the soonest u can check 4 it is 3-5 days after ur fisrt missed period an check a doc by the end of the month if u miss ur period chances r that u r pregnant

You can find out with a home test the day of your missed period. Some tests state earlier, but are rarely accurate before the first day of missed period.

If you have a ob/gyn already or a family physician they can test you at the office (blood) and tell you about a week before your period is due. However, finding out so early can lead to major let down and heartbreak if you have a chemical pregnancy (early miscarriage) and end up having a period (you wouldn't of known of the pregnancy and would of thought it was a period).

Good luck.

depends on if your usuin a urine test or a blood test. Urine, at home types and urine tests at the doc, can be tested and will will give you accurate results ( most of the time) if you test at around the time your period would normally be due -- about two weeks after you ovulate. A test may be negative for several reasons: you may not be pregnant, or you may have ovulated later than you thought.

Blood tests can be done a little sooner because they can test smaller levels of hCG.

hope this helps

After your first missed period. A woman doesn't produce enough HCG (pregnancy hormone) to test positive on a pregnancy test until she is about 4 weeks along. So I would test a week after after your first missed period. Good Luck!

When you miss a period. If you test sooner then that it probably will not show up becuase your hormone levels arent high enough. Good Luck!
