Some parents say to their children "I will be behind you no matter what you choose to do." Well what if the child chooses to be a drug dealer?

They said this because they wanted to support the child they love and they weren't being too pessimistic thinking their child would turn out to be a drug dealer or whatever. In short, they said this with their best interest at heart - to love and support the child no matter what happens. If the kid turned out to be a drug dealer, gay, whatever, they will not be happy, but their love never cease. So be thankful if you have good parents who would love you through and through. Some parents just beat you up and rape you and dont even care about you. No love, no support, no nothing.. and when u r a child in that kind of situation, you wouldnt even think of becoming a drug dealer when a very supportive parents are served to u in a silver platter.

Depends on who the parents are. They might be lieing or fickle or too proud to stand behind the child. On the other hand I know plenty of parents who are great friends with their kids and love them very much.

I'm sure that when a parent says that they mean "when something goes wrong, I'm here for you", not "if your deal gets busted, I'll bail you out".
Most parents who would say that should have raised decent enough children to not have to worry about their children getting into something so stupid. I know that if my parents put their trust in me I wouldn't do anything at all to put that at risk.

no parent ever wants their children to be a contributor to the demise of the world and culture ...so any one with common sense and whose not doing drugs themselves would know their parents don't mean this.

hm...thats a very good question. i hate to say this, but i think the parents would stop sopporting them...like when a child discovers he or she is gay or a lesbian...that happens to many.

Lol that is interesting. But I'm sure they meant if they find a suitable career that doesn't involve stealing or something illegal.
