Itunes asks me if I want to replace everything on the ipod with the music in the other computer. I want to ADD this music to my collection, not replace everything.

its set to auto-sync. you should set it to manage music manually

I personally don't have an ipod but my bother and a couple of my cuz's do and i heard that you have to you the origional computer that you put the songs on there with otherwise it clears out all the songs that were on there.

When you connect an iPod to a computer you "marry" them, and they will not work with other pieces.
There are ways around it of course, they arent legal though

you have no choice but to start over with the itunes disc...all your old songs will be erased.
