I don't hate him, he's a great soccer player. I just don't agree with what he did to Materazzi, not only did he make a fool of himself he disappointed his team and his fans.

Jason..WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT???

Not everyone hates Zidane a lot. There are still plenty of fans of him, especially the French, and those who don't know much about soccer, and supported France for the sake of supporting the player people call a legend.

I mean, everything he does is practically treasured by his audience. When I watched the match versus Brazil, the commentator remarked, "And here is some Zidane magic..." implying how much some people respect him for his past feats... at least, other than the fouls and cards received. And then there are some who think he's hot.

I guess there are some racists who oppose immigration and look down at people of African descent, or Muslims. They think that Muslims are inferior, and despise everyone but their own race. It's really depressing to see what racist acts people have gone through.

I disagree. I suppose Zidane is bigger than Totti. Both have skilled good fortune on the membership and worldwide degree however Zidane stands proud as a bigger participant for me. I see Totti as a disgraceful participant off the pitch and on it even as I see Zidane as a trendy gentleman who had a second of insanity towards Materazzi. Also recollect that Zidane skilled good fortune at Cannes, Bordeaux, Juventus and Real Madrid even as Totti stayed at Roma his entire profession. We will by no means realize if Totti would have succeeded in different places.

define "everyone"... I have seen many Zidane supporters on this forum. On July 1st I hated him tons. That was because he contributed to the massacre of Brasil. Buaaaaaaaaah! But I concede, France was the better team. Now that I have come to terms with this, I can admire Zizou for his skills and talents, though I do not believe him to be "the best player in the world." How's that?

Addendum - I don't know Jas, sounds like maybe you have a little crush on Juve. Too bad. I'm kinda diggin' on you ;)

I'm Italian.
I was very shocked with what Zidane did on the WC final.
Zidane is a GREAT player that made a huge MISTAKE.
The mistake does not take away how great a player he is. But his greatness does not take away his mistake. He should not have done that. He knows better.

Other than that: He's played for France, Spain and Italy. He beats Brazil (I love this part!) and, you know, he is good looking.
So... don't count me in in the "hating" part.

Goodluck!

Not everyone. Some of us can see that he is a good looking guy and a great soccer player. Did his technique in a major game impress most people? Probably not, including myself! Why? Violence is never the solution to any problem! He should have dealt with it in a professional way and not give in to the italian taunter whom probably did it on purpose as a mind game so France would lose its best player!
HE WAS VERY CLASSY THROUGHOUT THE GAME WITH MY FAVORITE TEAM - PORTUGAL!

not everyone hates zizou, as the responses to your question obviously indicate. some like him for his skills, some for his bald look or because he looks like a p-r-i-c-k. some hate him for what he did to materazzi while others detest him for the simple reason that he is french or he has arab blood in him. i guess, there will always be people who hate or begrudge famous personalities out of envy or spite. anyway, this is still a free world so to each his own. i personally look up to him for his prowess in football. cheers!

Why are we still talking about this? People are just crybabies over the fact that materazzi got hit. They won the game and they should be happy.

Even Brazilians like him

You hate him , it's good to discuss with other people, you can see nobody share your point of view .

Who hates Zidane? Last time I checked, all of France was backing him up. He will always be a hero and a legend, unlike you, so get the hell off Zidane's case, loser!

I think you might have got it wrong, OK I expect some people do`nt like him, but I bet there are more that does, like I have said before what he did to materazzi was unfortunate, but if he had kept his fat mouth shut, nothing would have happened.
