well for starters the bangles heart and joan jett were all american bands and i think the pretenders were also .til tuesday was british but i think she had blonde hair ,cant remeber the soisue and the banshees .human league and eurythmics are good guesses annie lennox was the singer for eurythimics they sang here comes the rain again. i will also think some more and get back with more
i thought of some more the motels were around that time they had the song then suddenly one summer and then there is quarterflash they sang gonna harden my heart .neither of these groups lasted for very long.and i think the motels fit ur description better

the dark hair could have been joan jett and the blackhearts. she sang i love rock and roll, she had short hair.
another would be crissie hines from the pretenders. she was a little older than joan jett but she really did sing well.
and another was pat benatar. she had the dark short hair too.
they all could have been models. pat benatar usually was a little better dressed than the other two. she wore dresses and jeans. joan jett mostly wore black leather. chrissie hines usually wore jeans too.

Are you thinking of The Eurythmics, headed by Annie Lennox?

i saw your answer to the beatles or stones question.
the stones have way more than two good songs.
the reason they are still touring is because they are musicians.
being a musician is not about getting famous, touring while your young, and retiring.
when you are a true musician, you can't stop playing until you die.
and by the way, keith richards is never going to die. if he hasn't done it yet, he never will.
