It sounds silly but brew up a bunch of lipton tea bags and take a bath in them, submerging all the burned parts. Make sure you brew enough to make your bath watter turn brown. It helped me when I had a rotten sunburn.

it'll probably continue to hurt but will go away after a few days.

I usually keep my aloe vera gel in the fridge so that it goes on cold, it totally soothes the heat and the burn. Don't take hot showers, you'll only irrate your skin more, cool showers are the thing, it feels great against the hot skin.

The aloe vera gel is the best and it keeps the skin hydrated and lessens the peeling process because the skin gets dry and starts to peel. Also, cream (lots of it) with aloe vera and/or cocoa butter will help keep the peeling to a minimum. The key is to keep the skin cool and hydrated.

where light clothing, nothing that sticks to the skin, at night if you can help it, wear as little clothing as possible, I often slept in my undies and a sports bra, tube top, or tank shirt (the one they call wife beaters or muscle shirts)

I did this for a week, I was burned ALL OVER!!!! YIKES!!! I peeled a little, depending on where it burned more like my chest, my nose, my shoulder, and barely started peeling on my thigh and it's been 3 weeks!!, but not too much, I just kept slathering that aloe vera gel and lotion!!!

Also, make sure you don't have any bumps or blisters which could mean a stage 2 or 3 sunburn and you'll have to see your doctor for that for prescribed medication to prevent infection.

OH! sometimes those burn sprays are okay, but not the best though in my experience.

next time, don't forget the sunblock!!! and remember to keep putting it on, after water, sweat, etc.

Sounds like you're doing the best things for it. No, there's nothing you can do to prevent it from peeling. Can you think of some ways you can prevent sunburn?

There is nothing you can do to keep it from peeling, but take a vinagar bath, that will pull the heat out. Use a light lotion, so you skin can still breath. And for goodness sakes, next time use more sunblock! SPF 65!

Lotion is the best way to prevent peeling. Make sure you put it on really often and keep your skin hydrated.

buy some vitamin E pills (they are like gel capsules). use a safety pin to pop them open and spread the oily substance on your sunburn. I know it sounds gross, but it honestly works! it helps heal, hold in moisture, and lessen the pain. Trust me. I use it all the time.
