The court jester was not the kind of commedian we know today. Though they would do funny things or fall down and make funny noises, the jester usually sat beside the king and offered funny commentary on the goings on about the court. Comments on unusual headgear, or funny looking people, though careful not to mention anyone in the King's own family. Usually the jester made himself the 'foile' or "fool", the brunt of every joke and the got everyone to laugh at HIM rather than anyone else.

Jesters were also jugglers, singers and very quick witted. They'd have to be to keep from angering the king. A bad review usually meant death.

At court? Meaning, in the company of the King and/or Queen and their court? I imagine juggling and tale telling were parts of his act.

in the throne room... he'd probably have played a wooden flute and sung "silly" songs dissing the king. depends on how much guts the jester had, and how high the king's approval rating was.

Mainly acting silly, and things that would remind on of 30's slap stick comedy
