the biggest problem with any organization today including the Hopsital Industry is retention of man power. There is a high attrition rate among nurses in Indian Hospitals.Am looking for some stategies that may have been developed successfully to tackle this problem or at least reduce it.

Create a better working environment for the nurses (make doctors be nicer to them), don't float nurses between floors (chances are the ER nurse dosen't want to work in ICU and really wouldn't know much about it if made to work on a different floor), encourage growth among the staff (work with staff who want to go back to school, tuition discount programs), higher pay (nurses need to make as much as their responsibility warrants), maybe bonuses for one year, five years, and so on, and make nursing as glamorus as other health care professions (career days in school, posters, etc).
Hope this helps!

In India the number of students preffering to become nurses are very less. IF a student want to choose medical career they prefer becoming doctor but not nurse. and secondly there r no big institutes like IIT or IIM or AIIMS for encouraging such kind of courses every one is in mad rush to becom mba graduate or doc or engg. but not nurse. so this leads to very less no of nurses then required in that field. so the less no. of nurses who r comming out will defnetly look for better pay and mor earning so only choice for them left is either go abroad or preffer well established hospitals where they get high salaries. so if u want to solve this problem u have to pay same salary what the other big hospitals are paying them and also create awareness in students that they have bright future in nursing too like other courses(which i dont think true.)
