Because it makes them feel better about themselves...
When you don't have anything better to do in this world than pick on other people for the way they look, the language they speak or the way they pray, doesn't that show you have some serious issues with yourself and your own identity?

peace is not possible without understanding. If we fear the unknown, and are ignorant about ethnicities other than our own, we will fear people who do not look like us. The more time you spend with a variety of people with diverse backgrounds, religions and cultures, the more you will realize how much we are all alike. In some cases understanding will make us more fearful of some. However if you tthought only middle eastern people were terrorists, you would be mistaken. There are people of every race, religion, and culture that would be willing to massacre you. You really can't judge a book by it's cover or by the library you found it in. Until you read the pages of a persons life you can't judge. By denegrating a whole segment of society it is the racist who suffers, because they miss out on good friendships and life lessons.

"These days"? You aren't seriously suggesting that mankind has a history of tolerance, do you? In my opinion, racism is merely an expression of an innate reflex which all creatures have against anything which is different from them. The reflex exists because in nature, the likelihood of another species being either directly physically dangerous for oneself or at least carrying possible diseases is a possibility. Ever see a dog barking at a cat? It does that not because it "dislikes" cats, but because it feels threatened by it. These dogs, a lot of different wthnicities are being squeezed together through immigration and globalization. Racism is the barking of mankind. Sometimes, just barking mad.

Because to them, ignorance IS bliss. They're happy being fools with narrow-minded views, and so they decide to pass them on to their children. But racism has been going on far long before "these days" ever got here. Nothing much non-racists can do but be open-minded and embrace all people as equal... and kick the racists people in their @sses...

Racists like to run and win. Racing gets in the blood. What's wrong with being a racist and coming in first?

Because some people are just foolish. They judge a person by the color of their skin, the amount of money they have, religion and any thing else.
I think these types just really enjoy making themselves the center of attention as well as they love for trauma and drama.

I think some people will always look down upon other races because of the way they were raised. And I believe some people have risen above that and seen people for who they are on the inside, instead of the outside.Remember,... judge people on the content of their character,Not the color of their wrapper.

Everyone is racist. If you are American I'm sure you are racist against anyone that looks middle eastern, thinking they are a terrorist. Or against north Koreans, or Mexicans for border crossing. Think about it, you are too. EVERYONE IS PREJUDICE AGAINST SOMEONE!

It's easier to pick on other people for their faults than to take action and change yourself for the better.
