No, it's not technically illegal in and of itself, but downloading unlicensed music, videos, and games is illegal, so consider that. :)

It's only illegal if you download copyrighted material. Which is 99% of the stuff on there. So yes is the answer. It's not illegal to look...only to download without paying the person who created what you downloaded. And the "Pay" Limewire is not legal to download from either. Eventually...individuals will be busted. remember Napster???

Well I'm not entirely sure if it is legal or not but when I downloaded it, it ruined the account that I put it on, so I had to get rid of it.
But think it's illegal because you are getting the music and videos without buying it.

Downloading and installing Limewire is not illegal. Using Limewire isn't illegal either. Using Limewire to violate someone's copyright is what's illegal.

limewire in itself isn't unlawful, yet what you're doing on limewire is unquestionably unlawful. you're downloading copywrited songs from different computers logged onto limewire. this is likewise an fairly marvelous thank you to get an endemic.

The software itself is perfectly legitimate to own, use, posess, ect. Its what you do with it that will get you in trouble.
If you start downloading hollywood movies, music, books, and anything else copyrighted, expect to get a letter of intent to sue you in the mail.
